Chapter 12: Praises and Wondrous Virtues
At that time, Shakra, Brahma, and the Four Heavenly Kings, who were all present in the assembly, scattered celestial flowers over the Buddha and said: "World-Honored One! If a good man or good woman hears the Dharma as taught by Mañjuśrī and has faith and understanding, you should know that such a person is capable of destroying demons and their threats. Why? Because what Mañjuśrī has now explained can break all false views and deluded thinking. World-Honored One! If a good man or good woman hears this Dharma without fear or alarm, you should know that such a person does not come from small merit. Wherever this sutra is present, you should know that place is protected and blessed by all Buddhas. Wherever this sutra is heard, you should know that place turns the wheel of Dharma. In whatever place this sutra abides—villages, towns, forests, wilderness, pagodas, monasteries, or walking paths—no demons, heretics, or people attached to desire can disturb it. World-Honored One! Only those who have made abundant offerings to past Buddhas can hear such a sutra. World-Honored One! We have gained the light of wisdom from this sutra, yet we cannot repay the kindness of the Buddha, Mañjuśrī, or the Brahma Deva Śubhavyūha. World-Honored One! We regard the teacher from whom we heard this sutra as we would the World-Honored One Himself. We will always follow and attend to whoever teaches this sutra. Such a good person is constantly protected by the gods. When someone copies, recites, or explains this sutra, countless gods will come to that place to hear the Dharma."
