Third Invitation for the Holy to Bear Witness
現前大眾。我今既為說法開導。須懷忻仰。向下更為迎請聖眾。降臨道場。證明護念。汝等各須專秉一心隨我音聲奉請(先啟白)。
To the assembly here present: Now that I have explained the Dharma and opened your minds, you must cherish reverence and admiration. Next, I will invite the holy beings to descend upon this sacred place, to bear witness and offer their protection and care. Each of you must focus your mind with single-hearted devotion and, following my voice, make your reverent invitation. (First, announce your intent)
維太歲某年某月日。南閻浮提大宋國某州縣某處。今有眾多男女。各發精誠。同稟淨戒。邀迎三寶一切聖賢。願賜護持。即希感降。
一心奉請。盡虛空界微塵剎中。一切諸佛真應二身。一切道法。大小兩乘。三乘等侶。一切聖賢。惟願聞今奉請。降臨道場。證明受戒。
一心奉請。護法諸天。功德大辯。梵釋四王。龍鬼八部。天靈地祇。日月星宮。江河淮濟。名山大川。州城分野。社稷聰明。守護齋戒。正直神司。惟願聞今奉請。降臨道場。堅守加護。
I respectfully invoke all Dharma-protecting devas, including the great merit-granting goddess Sarasvati, Brahma and Indra, the Four Heavenly Kings, the eight classes of dragons and spirits, celestial and earthly beings, the sun, moon and star palaces, the great rivers and seas, famous mountains and sacred rivers, and the honored gods who watch over and protect the precepts and maintain Uprightness in our towns, fields, and states. We humbly invite you all, hearing our call, to descend upon this sacred gathering and to steadfastly guard and bless it.
一心奉請。十方法界六道四生。三才九類。一切含情。現前受戒合道場人。住居香火本命星辰。生身父母上代宗親。惟願承三寶力。俱到道場。同沾戒善。
