五衣
Five Robes
(In Sanskrit, this is called Antarvāsa. Here it is called the work robe. It has five strips, one long and one short. Whenever doing labor or service in the monastery, or coming and going on the road, one should wear this robe and recite this verse and mantra. The Precept Altar Sutra says: the five strips represent cutting off greed and purifying bodily karma.)
Wonderful is the robe of liberation, the unsurpassed field-of-merit garment. I now receive it upon my head, and in life after life I will never let it go.
Om. Siddhaya svaha. (Recite three times.)
