The *Jinjiang Chandeleng* (Jinjiang Chan Lamp Records), compiled by the eminent Linji school monk Tongzui during the Qing dynasty, is a significant Chan Buddhist historical text in the "lamp record" genre. Compiled in the early Qing period, it primarily collects the encounter dialogues and transmission lineages of Chan masters from the Sichuan region (historically known as the Jinjiang River basin) spanning from the Tang to the Qing dynasties, with a particular emphasis on the Linji school lineage. Its contents not only document the conduct and teachings of numerous Chan masters but also reflect the development and spread of the Chan tradition in Sichuan during the Ming-Qing transition. This work is a crucial text for the study of regional Chan history, especially the transmission lineage of Sichuan Chan and the development of the Linji school. It holds significant value as a historical source for Buddhism, providing precious evidence for understanding the dissemination and evolution of Chan Buddhism in southwestern China.
