### No. 1179-C

> I am ready. Please provide the text for translation.

> The writings of Master Shengan are a text that transmits the true lineage of the Pure Land tradition. Master Haiyun has reprinted it after receiving it through pure karma, clarifying the source and correcting the foundation—a truly great achievement. I have also requested that the biographies of the First to Ninth Patriarchs of the Pure Land tradition be published in full, which aligns with his intention. He asked me to add a few words to strengthen people's faith and practice. Therefore, I briefly share my humble view. The Pure Land tradition is the true tradition and the true teaching. Those who study it are like wood following a marking line—they become straight. However, whether a student attains this or not depends on their good fortune or lack thereof. With good fortune, one’s intention is sincere and mind is upright, thus naturally attaining the true teaching. Without it, one fails to attain what is correct, and disaster will inevitably befall them. As it is said, cultivating oneself lies in rectifying the mind. There has never been a case where the mind is not upright but the body is cultivated. The master, having fortunately obtained the true transmission himself, is willing to share it with others so that they may all hear the true teaching and return to the true path. Excellent, excellent! First, he perfected himself, then he sought to perfect others. If everyone could share the same intention—rectifying themselves and rectifying others—all could attain true fruit. Then how could there be any unfortunate people in the world? Having written this, all sounds are silent. A single moon hangs in the sky. I then composed a verse: Heaven and earth are like an inn, All people are but passing guests. Only the sage’s mind, Shines forever like the sun and moon.
