> Recorded by Shi Shengtang, a Later Scholar from Nanyang

三寶感通記曰。唐貞觀五年。有隆州巴西縣令狐元軌者。信敬佛法○京師西明寺主神察目驗說之。

> A Record of Miracles through the Three Jewels states: During the fifth year of the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, there was a county magistrate of Langzhou Baxi County named Linghu Yuangui, who had faith and reverence for the Buddha's teachings. This account was personally witnessed and told by Shen Cha, the abbot of Ximing Temple in the capital.

又曰唐益州西南新繁縣西四十里許○繁後具自言之會盈耳。

> It is also said: More than forty li southwest of Xin'an County in Yizhou during the Tang Dynasty—this will be explained later.<note>Filling the ears with sound.</note>

唐臨冥報記曰唐吳郡□□素家貞觀二十年失火○具自言之右三□□□苑珠林第□□六卷。

> Tang Lin’s \*Records of the Unseen World\* tells of a man from Wujun in the Tang dynasty whose family name was not recorded. During the Zhenguan era (around 646 CE), his house caught fire. He himself told the story. <note>From the \*Yuan Zhu Lin\*, Volume 62.</note>

郎餘令冥報拾遺曰□□州刺史樂安任義方○義方自說右一驗出□□珠林第五□□。

法苑珠林第一百十六卷送終篇□□□耶王之弘貞觀年中○不復更來右此一驗見弘自說也。

又第一百二卷六度篇曰唐蕭氏是司元大夫崔○具說如是。

> Furthermore, Chapter 102 of the “Six Perfections” section states: In the Tang Dynasty, a woman from the Xiao family—as told by Cui, a senior official in the Ministry of Personnel—related the following story.

大唐壽州壽春府永慶寺金剛經󳬴本䟦語曰。唐乾元季中廣州僧䖍惠自幼受持此經○雲氣徐徐上昇天界。

> Student Huineng of Daming Monastery in Laiyang County, Qi Prefecture, once undertook a practice retreat. One night during his meditation, a demon appeared, spewing flames rune by rune. Huineng was startled and frightened, but had a sudden realization of emptiness. The demon then vanished, and a voice spoke from the sky. This incident occurred during the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty.
