> Chapter 10: Instructions for King Guang

不如直下執持。一句阿彌陀佛。盡心盡力念去。無絲毫異念。即是無字公案。其無字等話頭。不必提了。純一念佛。念佛上透。千處萬處俱透。

> Just hold directly to it—recite the single phrase "Amituofo" with all your heart and strength, letting no different thought arise. This itself is the wordless koan. There's no need to bring up other sayings like "Mu" — simply focus entirely on Buddha-recitation. Penetrate the chanting of the Buddha's name, and you will break through every barrier, at a thousand points or ten thousand.
