如意輪陀羅尼經誦念法品第三
Chapter 3: Recitation Method of the Wish-Fulfilling Mantra
爾時觀自在菩薩摩訶薩復白佛言：「世尊！是祕密如意輪陀羅尼，復有二法：一在世間、二出世間。言世間者，所謂誦念課法勝願成就，攝化有情富貴資財，勢力威德皆得成就。言出世間者，所謂福德慧解資糧莊嚴，悲心增長，濟苦有情眾人愛敬。斯經祕要，當密祕持，無識之人不應宣傳。若證此祕密三昧耶者，當自祕持勿妄宣說。若真成就此陀羅尼最勝法者，當一切處若食不食、若淨不淨，一心觀想聖觀自在相好圓滿，如日初出光明晃曜。誦斯陀羅尼無有妄念，常持不間一無過犯，則得聖觀自在現金色身，除諸垢障神力加被，心所求願皆乞滿足，證諸神通安怛陀那法、多聞持法如意珠法、住年藥法、雨寶雨法、見伏藏法、入阿修羅窟法、隨意形法、種種藥法、杵法瓶法、世出世間諸所樂法皆得成辦。若有國王、王后嬪妃、王子公主宰官、婆羅門剎利毘舍首陀、比丘、若男若女、童男童女、若諸外道，伏信斯法而受持者，應知時數。若國王誦念時，於七日中六時各誦一千八十遍。若后嬪妃，每時當誦九百遍。若王子，誦八百遍。若公主，誦七百遍。若宰官，誦六百遍。若婆羅門，誦五百遍。若剎利，誦四百遍。若是毘舍，誦三百遍。若首陀，誦二百遍。若比丘，誦一百八遍。若男子，誦一百六遍。若女人，誦一百三遍。若童男，誦一百遍。若童女，誦九十遍。此名課法。持念稱名，一切勝事皆獲成就，富貴福樂資財穀帛、奴婢象馬一切樂具隨意增長。明者時數，每從後夜至明相時誦一千八十遍，常不間廢，則得成就一切無邊之事。百由旬內地天男女，捷疾如風歸敬讚歎。若欲聖觀自在現與願者，清淨澡浴末香塗身，著淨衣服、食三白食，隨力所辦香花香水、三白飲食果蓏供養。沈水香、白栴檀香等和酥蜜，面東結加趺坐，想聖觀自在誦如意輪陀羅尼，一明一燒滿十萬遍，聖觀自在現身教語成就明者一切諸願。若欲執金剛藏菩薩現者，沈水香、安息香等和酥蜜，一明一念執金剛藏菩薩一燒，滿十萬遍，執金剛藏菩薩而自現身，觀念明者愛之如子，授與一切持明法器。若欲一切諸佛菩薩現者，以沈水香一明一念一切諸佛菩薩一燒，滿十萬遍，諸佛菩薩皆自現身，為除蓋障滿所求願。若欲一切大持明仙現者，以安悉香和酥，七日七夜一明一念大持明仙一燒，滿七日七夜，一切大持明仙皆自現身住是人前，各持明法呈授明者，加祐神力、隨逐擁護。若欲三千大千世界主帝釋梵王與諸天眾現者，七日七夜以安悉香、薰陸香等和酥蜜，一明一念帝釋梵王一燒，滿七日七夜，帝釋梵王與諸天眾皆自現身說法慰喻，與所求願而擁護之。」
Then the great and holy Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva spoke again to the Buddha: "World-Honored One, this sacred Cakra Dhāraṇī has two aspects: one for worldly life, and one for transcendent liberation.
Regarding the worldly aspect: through recitation and practice according to the prescribed method, one can achieve success in their noble aspirations, guide and transform beings, attain wealth and resources, and gain power, influence, and virtue.
Regarding the transcendent aspect: one cultivates merit, wisdom, and inner resources, deepens compassion, relieves suffering beings, and earns the love and respect of all.
The essential teachings of this sutra should be kept and practiced in secret. You should not teach them to those who lack understanding. Only those who have realized this sacred commitment may keep and practice it, and should not casually spread it.
If you truly wish to master this most excellent Dhāraṇī method, you should, in every place—whether eating or not eating, whether in a state of purity or impurity—focus your mind single-mindedly on the holy Avalokiteśvara, whose perfect form shines like the rising sun, radiant and brilliant. Recite this Dhāraṇī without wandering thoughts, maintain it without interruption, and commit no transgressions. Then the holy Avalokiteśvara will appear in a golden body, remove all obstacles and defilements, grant you divine power, fulfill your heart's desires, and enable you to attain various supernatural abilities: the methods of concealment, of vast learning, of the wish-fulfilling jewel, of life-extending medicine, of raining treasures, of seeing hidden treasures, of entering Asura caves, of assuming any form, of various medicines, of the vajra and the vase—all worldly and transcendent joys can be accomplished.
If a king, queen, consort, prince, princess, minister, Brahmin, Kṣatriya, Vaiśya, Śūdra, monk, layman or laywoman, boy or girl, or even a follower of other paths, comes to believe in this Dharma and uphold it, they should know the proper practice times.
When a king recites, he should do so 1,080 times at each of the six periods of the day for seven days. For a queen or consort: 900 times each period. A prince: 800 times. A princess: 700 times. A minister: 600 times. A Brahmin: 500 times. A Kṣatriya: 400 times. A Vaiśya: 300 times. A Śūdra: 200 times. A monk: 108 times. A man: 106 times. A woman: 103 times. A boy: 100 times. A girl: 90 times.
This is called the practice method. By reciting and invoking the name, all excellent endeavors will be achieved. Wealth, happiness, resources, grain, cloth, servants, elephants, horses, and all pleasant things will grow according to your wishes.
If a wise practitioner recites 1,080 times from the last watch of the night until dawn, and does so without ceasing, they will accomplish all limitless tasks. Within a radius of one hundred yojanas, celestial beings, earthly spirits, men and women will honor, praise, and swiftly come to you like the wind, paying their respects.
If you wish the holy Avalokiteśvara to appear and grant your wishes, first bathe and cleanse yourself, anoint your body with fragrant powders, wear clean clothes, and eat only white foods. Offer incense, flowers, fragrant water, and white foods and fruits according to your means. Mix aloeswood, white sandalwood, and other powders with honey and ghee. Face east, sit in the full lotus posture, and visualize the holy Avalokiteśvara while reciting the Cakra Dhāraṇī. For each recitation, offer one incense offering. Do this for 100,000 recitations. Then the holy Avalokiteśvara will appear, speak to you, and teach you how to fulfill all wishes.
If you wish to see the Vajrapāṇi Bodhisattva appear, mix aloeswood, benzoin, and other incense with honey and ghee. For each recitation, think of Vajrapāṇi and make one offering. Do this for 100,000 recitations. Then Vajrapāṇi will appear, love you as a child, and give you all the instruments of the Dhāraṇī method.
If you wish all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to appear, use aloeswood incense. For each recitation, think of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and make one offering. Do this for 100,000 recitations. Then all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will appear, remove your obstacles, and fulfill your wishes.
If you wish all great Mahāsiddhas (great accomplished ones) to appear, mix benzoin with honey and offer it continuously for seven days and seven nights. For each recitation, think of the great Mahāsiddhas and make one offering. After seven days and seven nights, all great Mahāsiddhas will appear before you, each offering their method, granting you divine power, and following and protecting you.
If you wish Śakra, the lord of the Trāyastriṃśa heaven, Brahmā, the lord of the Sahā world, and their celestial retinues to appear, mix benzoin, frankincense, and other incense with honey and ghee for seven days and seven nights. For each recitation, think of Śakra and Brahmā and make one offering. After seven days and seven nights, they will appear with their divine retinues, teach you the Dharma, comfort you, grant your wishes, and protect you.
