唯菴然和尚語錄序
Preface to the Dharma Talks of Master Weian Ran
余所居鄰縣，有五雲山，山勢回環若青蓮華，然中聖壽禪寺其癈已久。大善知識曰：「千嵒長公居焉，四方學者，雲臻川赴，遂化椔翳之場，以為金碧之區。當時，參扣道要者，座下恒數百人，其入室弟子，唯菴禪師蓋傑然者也。」
禪師早歲入道，力抵諸方，未有所契；及謁千嵒，聞其提唱，豁然有所悟入。舉目之頃，日月星辰，風霆雨露，飛潛動蟄，皆演如來大乘妙法。
於是聲光聳起叢林間，遂補千巖故處，說法度人；逾年退歸華亭之松隱，其信向者益眾。
Then beams of light and sound rose up within the forest groves, and so the teacher restored the ancient site beneath a thousand cliffs, where he preached the Dharma and guided people. After more than a year, he withdrew to Pine Reclusion in Huating, and those who placed their faith in him grew even more numerous.
雖自被衲袍，日餐糗飯，不啻天廚之珍，錦綺之華也。或人之稱，但見其杜德機爾。
Though wearing a simple robe of coarse cloth and dining on plain grains daily, none of it is any less precious than delicacies from the celestial kitchen or the finest silken embroidery. Those who praise such a life only perceive the surface of his virtue and quiet determination.
忽學子童徽，持其語一編，來徵余序，凡讀之數過，顧與二三子曰：「唯菴，真誠有道之士哉！觀其語言，峭拔如銅關鐵壁、利劍長矛，豈唯不可湊泊，亦無罅隙之可乘。吁！可畏哉！」
余素與千巖游，既序其語，鍥梓行世。今觀唯菴斯錄，又獲廁名編端，豈般若之緣實有在於父子間乎。
然而，大圓覺海無物不照，亦無一法可得；此心若萌，即墮第二義。
禪師諱德然，字唯菴，生雲間張氏，其行業備著於《松隱菴記》，茲不復贅。
