Recorded Sayings of Chan Master Miyun Wu is a collection of the teachings of the eminent Linji School monk Yuanwu Keqin from the Ming Dynasty, compiled by his disciple Daomin Shangjin. Completed during the late Ming Buddhist revival, this work records Master Yuanwu's discourses, Dharma talks, sharp exchanges, and letters, embodying the Linji School's approach of directly pointing to the human mind, seeing one's nature, and attaining Buddhahood. Its content covers essential methods of Chan meditation, inquiry into mind and nature, and practical cultivation. Holding a significant place in Buddhist history, it is regarded as a key text for studying Linji School thought and Ming Dynasty Chan Buddhism, exerting a profound influence on later Chan traditions.
