受菩薩戒誓文(天啟四年歲次甲子十二月二十二日)
Vow for Receiving the Bodhisattva Precepts
如是戒品，我今於一切三寶前，誓願受持修學，盡未來際，不復捨離。假使持戒因緣，百千萬劫恒受困苦，誓不以苦故，退失今日道心。假使破戒因緣，百千萬劫恒受安樂，誓不以樂故，退失今日道心。以此學戒功德，願我及眾生，無始眾罪，盡得消滅。若一切眾生，定業當受報者，我皆代受，遍微塵國界，歷諸惡道，終無厭悔，令彼眾生先成佛道。我所發願，真實不虛，願十方三寶，現為我證，令我道心，日夜增長，文殊智海，念念清淨，普賢行海，念念圓成，命終之後，生諸佛前，證度迷流，同登覺岸。虛空有盡，我願無窮。
Thus, this precept, I now before all the Three Jewels vow to receive, uphold, and practice, until the end of future time, never again abandoning it. Even if upholding the precepts causes me to endure suffering for hundreds of thousands of eons, I vow not to let this suffering cause me to retreat from the resolve for enlightenment I hold today. Even if breaking the precepts would bring me constant ease and happiness for hundreds of thousands of eons, I vow not to let this happiness cause me to retreat from the resolve for enlightenment I hold today.
Through the merit of studying these precepts, may I and all beings have all our boundless past misdeeds completely eradicated. If any being must receive the retribution of fixed karma, may I receive it in their stead, throughout lands as numerous as dust motes, experiencing all the miserable realms, never growing weary or regretful, so that those beings may first attain Buddhahood.
The vows I have made are true and not false. May the Three Jewels of the ten directions now bear witness for me, so that my resolve for enlightenment may increase day and night, that the ocean of Manjushri's wisdom may be pure in every thought, and the ocean of Samantabhadra's conduct may be perfected in every thought. After this life ends, may I be born in the presence of all Buddhas, helping to guide the lost and confused, so that together we may reach the shore of awakening.
Even if space itself were to end, my vows would have no end.
