### 二七、唐衡岳某庵尼無染傳

> Chapter 27: Biography of Nun Wuran of a Certain Nunnery at Mount Heng in the Tang Dynasty

無染，韋氏女，家世顯貴。大曆中出家，事衡岳大明律師，傳其戒法，奉行惟謹。大明示寂後，無染涕泣，求永州司馬柳宗元為作碑銘，為言其師道德為尤備，宗元因書諸碑陰。

> Wuran, a woman of the Wei family, came from a prominent and noble lineage. During the Dali era, she renounced worldly life and became a disciple of the Vinaya Master Daming of Mount Heng, diligently upholding and practicing the precepts he transmitted. After Daming passed away, Wuran wept and sought out Liu Zongyuan, the Sima of Yongzhou, to compose an epitaph for her teacher. She spoke in detail of her teacher’s virtue and conduct, and Liu Zongyuan inscribed these words on the back of the stele.
