> 67\. Biography of Nun Wenjian of Fushou Temple in Yuan Tongxiang

文鑑，字古心，姓濮氏，桐鄉人，先世以資雄於鄉。生具宿根，不樂處俗，十四歲即斷葷穢，禮廣福淨妙禪師為嗣。復參天目中峰本公，朝暮請益，悟明大法。即於濮鎮建大剎，請於朝，勅賜福壽禪寺，仍住持廣福寺。兩處開堂，廣接來學。說法語意平實，聞者易解。至治庚午歸福壽坐化。

> Wen Jian, with the courtesy name Guxin, was born into the Pu family of Tongxiang, whose ancestors had long been prominent and wealthy in the region. Endowed with deep spiritual roots from past lives, he felt no attachment to worldly ways. At the age of fourteen, he gave up meat and impure foods, and took Master Guangfu Jingmiao as his teacher. Later, he sought guidance from Master Zhongfeng Ben of Tianmu Mountain, diligently learning from him morning and evening until he awakened to the profound Dharma. He then founded a grand monastery in Puzhen and petitioned the court, which granted it the name Fushou Chan Temple. He also continued to serve as abbot of Guangfu Temple. In both places, he held teaching assemblies and warmly received students. His teachings were plain and sincere, making them easy for listeners to understand. In the Gengwu year of the Zhizhi era, he returned to Fushou Temple and passed away in seated meditation.
