### 七七、明蕭山某庵尼無為傳

無為，蕭山來氏女。幼誓不嫁，蔬食念佛。年二十，薙髮結茅，專修淨土。三十，游方參學，凡所歷處，有病苦者，隨物取與，煎湯服之，即愈。嘉靖間，宮中時疫流行，風聞於朝，召赴有驗，賜無為心禪師之號，送歸故廬。將終日，有神僧投宿，無為卻之再三。神僧勸誡而進，權宿禪牀，睡醒不見，知是神僧。便起坐說偈云：「六十四年活計，得箇菩提三昧。今朝撒手歸西，依然明月滿地。」即逝，荼毘一團舍利，塔于冠山。

> Wuwei, a woman of the Lai family from Xiaoshan. From a young age, she vowed not to marry, eating only vegetables and reciting the Buddha's name. At twenty, she shaved her head, built a thatched hut, and devoted herself solely to the practice of Pure Land Buddhism. By thirty, she traveled widely to study and learn. Wherever she went, if there were people suffering from illness, she would gather local herbs, brew them into a decoction, and give it to them—and they would recover immediately. During the Jiajing era, an epidemic broke out in the palace. Word of her abilities reached the court, and she was summoned. Her methods proved effective, and she was bestowed the title "Chan Master Wuwei Xin" before being escorted back to her humble dwelling. On the day of her passing, a mysterious monk came seeking lodging. Wuwei refused him several times, but the monk persisted with advice and encouragement, finally resting temporarily on her meditation bed. When she awoke, he was gone—she realized he had been a divine monk. Rising to sit, she spoke a verse: "Sixty-four years of life's toil, Gaining the Samadhi of Bodhi. Today I let go and return to the West, Still the bright moon fills the earth." With these words, she passed away. After cremation, a cluster of relics remained, and a stupa was built for her on Guanshan.
