RuShiWoWen (如是我闻) is a dedicated platform for the reading, studying, and exchanging of Buddhist scriptures. By journeying with us, you agree to follow these guidelines to ensure a harmonious community for all practitioners.

The core services provided by the platform include:

• Sutra reading: side-by-side original and modern vernacular translation, with personalizable settings (font, layout, light/dark mode)
• Smart search: text search, category browsing, favorites/bookmarks, and text highlighting
• Reading progress: cross-device synchronization and cloud storage of your reading position
• AI scripture translation: modernizing classical texts into plain language, with term explanations
• Thus I Ask: an AI Buddhist Q&A assistant that answers your questions grounded in scripture
• Membership: unlocking premium features through donations or granted membership

RuShiWoWen and its related services are collectively referred to as "the Services" in these Terms.

Account Guidelines

• Register with your phone number or email, and provide truthful and accurate information to help us better serve you
• Safeguard your account credentials and do not share them with others
• Update your information as needed to keep it accurate
• You are responsible for all activities conducted under your account
• Do not create or use multiple accounts for improper or abusive purposes

Content Usage Rules

• Respect intellectual property rights; unauthorized copying, redistribution, or distribution of content is prohibited
• Do not tamper with or distort content
• Do not use content for unauthorized commercial purposes
• Comply with relevant laws, regulations, and community standards
• AI-generated translations and answers are for reference only; they do not constitute professional or scholarly advice, nor a statement of final truth, and do not replace personal practice or guidance from qualified teachers

User Conduct Guidelines

• Do not post false or misleading information
• Do not infringe upon others' legitimate rights and interests
• Do not interfere with the normal operation of the service or abuse the AI Q&A / translation features
• Do not engage in any illegal or inappropriate behavior

Intellectual Property

Different rights and licenses apply to different content:

• Public-domain classics: ancient classical scriptures are in the public domain and are not subject to any party's exclusive rights
• Third-party licensed content (e.g., from sources such as CBETA): used in accordance with the applicable third-party license terms, which you must comply with
• Original platform content (e.g., original vernacular translations, commentary, AI-generated output): the related rights belong to RuShiWoWen or are determined per the relevant agreements
• Interface and brand assets (logo, interface design, trademarks, etc.): belong to RuShiWoWen or its licensors
• For content uploaded or generated by users, the related rights belong to the user or are determined per relevant agreements
• Unauthorized use of others' content is prohibited

Membership & Donations

• Membership is provided through donations or grants, not as an automatically renewing paid subscription billed monthly or yearly
• If you donate or are granted membership, the corresponding benefits follow the description on the relevant page
• We do not provide automatic renewal or subscription billing through payment processors; refunds follow the relevant page or activity terms
• We may adjust membership benefits or related arrangements with advance notice

Service Changes

• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate all or part of the service at any time
• We reserve the right to change these Terms of Service, and will notify you of material changes through appropriate means
• We reserve the right to adjust service content and features

Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for losses arising from:

• Service interruption or data loss
• Disputes between users
• Third-party links, content, or payment services
• Force majeure events
