The monk Yixing (一行), active during the Tang dynasty, was a prolific scholar renowned for his astronomical and calendrical work, as well as his commentary on the Great Solar Epithet Sutra (大日经). The subsequent notations and revisions by scholars like Pu Rui (普瑞) of the Song dynasty, Du Che (读彻) and Mu Zeng (木增) of the Ming dynasty, and Zheng Zhi (正止) who edited and finalized the work, highlight the enduring importance and scholarly engagement with Yixing's contributions.
