Xia Lianju (1887-1985) was a prominent modern Chinese Buddhist scholar and philanthropist, most famous for his collaborative translation of the *Great Compendium of Pure Land Teachings* (净土大藏). He dedicated his life to promoting Pure Land Buddhism and preserving Buddhist scriptures.
