Li Tongxuan (7th-8th century Tang Dynasty) authored the *Xuanmen Shizhu Lun* (玄门实兆论), a significant commentary on the *Avatamsaka Sutra*. Zhi Ning (11th-12th century Song Dynasty) compiled and harmonized various commentaries on Buddhist scriptures in his *Jing He Lun* (经合论).
