The Buddhist monk Daoxuan (596-667 CE) of the Tang Dynasty was a prolific scholar and historian. He is most famous for his monumental work, the *Continued Biographies of Eminent Monks* (續高僧傳), which served as a sequel to the earlier *Biographies of Eminent Monks* (高僧傳) by Huijiao.
