### 與江吾與

善知識出現世閒。遊行自在。如大獅子。所作皆奉如來所使。教化成熟一切眾生。以此為事。乃至為一眾生。不避三途劇苦。刀山火聚。不以為患。以朽夫今日之事觀之。但願得一人。能不退菩提心。成就最上因緣者。則朽夫實所甘心。否則七寶莊嚴。皆屬有漏業因耳。又何取焉。今朽夫擲身魔界。僅僅一紀。而其開發信心。知有此道者多。但緣未熟耳。以今視昔之東鄙。猶古今異代矣。且一時從遊者。惟足下習染最重。今見足下書。翻然改圖。是不負此心。雖萬里如面。豈不欣然就道耶。

> When a true spiritual guide appears in the world, they move through it with ease, like a great lion. All they do is in service to the Tathāgata, dedicated to guiding and maturing all beings. This is their work. Even for the sake of a single being, they do not avoid the intense sufferings of the three lower realms—mountains of blades, seas of fire—they do not see these as hardships. Looking at my own situation today, my only wish is to find even one person who will not regress from the Bodhi mind, who will accomplish the supreme cause. For this, I would gladly give myself. Otherwise, even adornments of the seven treasures are merely conditioned, karmic causes—what value do they hold? Now, I have cast myself into the realm of demons for just twelve years. Many have developed faith and come to know this path, though their conditions are not yet ripe. Comparing the present to the past in the eastern regions, it is like different eras altogether. Among those who journeyed with me for a time, you were the one most deeply influenced. Now, seeing your letter and your complete change of direction, I feel this heart of mine has not been in vain. Though we are separated by thousands of miles, it is as if we are face to face. How could I not joyfully walk this path with you?
