> Fifth: Praising the Three Jewels<note>The practitioner, having invited the Three Jewels, should prostrate with five limbs touching the ground. Maintaining proper posture and dignity, stand upright with focused mind, facing the Dharma seat while burning incense and scattering flowers. With the mind contemplating the subtle virtues of the Three Jewels, recite verses of praise and make aspirations aloud.</note>

> Your appearance is truly wondrous, Your light shines across all directions. I have made offerings before, And now I come again to behold You. Holy Lord, King of the heavens, With a voice as melodious as the kalaviṅka bird, Merciful to all living beings, We now bow to You in reverence.

> With this praise of the Buddha’s virtues, I cultivate the supreme roots of goodness in the Great Vehicle. May this merit be offered to the heavenly beings above—the Eight Classes of Dragons and Gods, the Great Brahma King, the Thirty-Three Heavens, Yama’s five paths, the six fasting days, the eight kings, the disease-spreading ghost kings, and all their retinues. Also to the local deities and protectors of the Dharma within the sangha monasteries. Furthermore, for the king and ruler, the people of the land, teachers, monks, parents, good and evil spiritual friends, the donors who built temples, the ten directions of faithful givers, and broadly extending to all sentient beings in the dharma realm. May we rely on these roots of goodness to equally cultivate the two kinds of adornments—merit and wisdom—and together reach the stage of non-arising, realizing the wisdom of all-knowing. <note>At that moment, one should understand that the actions of body, speech, and mind fill the dharma realm. Praising the Three Jewels, which are neither born nor ceasing, and lack any intrinsic nature.</note>
