### 鳳翔府青峰義誠禪師嗣石門徹

> Qingfeng Yicheng of Fengxiang <note>A disciple of Shimen Che</note>

僧問。三際不生是何人境界。曰。白雪連雪嶽。明月混漁鈎。云。未審向上更有事也無。曰。有。云。如何是向上事。曰。靈光爍破瑠璃色。大地明來絕點痕。　問。如何是青峰家風。曰。向火喫甜瓜。

> A monk asked, "In the state where past, present, and future do not arise—what kind of person experiences that?" The master said, "A snow-covered peak blends with white snow, and a bright moon merges with a fisherman’s hook." The monk said, "I don’t understand—is there something beyond this?" The master said, "Yes." The monk asked, "What is that beyond?" The master said, "A spirit-light shatters the color of crystal, and the great earth comes clear, without a trace of stain." The monk asked, "What is the style of the Blue Peak?" The master said, "Warming by the fire, eating a sweet melon."
