護摩品第八
Chapter 8: The Homa Rite
爾時佛告虛空藏菩薩言：「若諸有情欲得剎帝利位，持白麻仁、粳米、小豆、酥密、乳酪行護摩者，其國王甚大歡喜，讓與帝位。后妃王子亦復如是。若見曼拏羅如意珠王，速蠲淨除阿鼻業報四重五逆、誹謗正法一切惡業，一切劇苦悉皆除滅，更不重五逆惡趣身，常居勝位，八萬四千執金剛夜叉、十地金剛陀羅尼菩薩、六十八千持明神仙晝夜守護，常為伴侶。若命終之後，必生勝妙金剛手大悉地宮，即為真言大持明仙，十六菩薩以為兄弟。」
Then the Buddha addressed the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha, saying: "If any being wishes to attain the position of a ruler, let them perform the homa offering with white sesame seeds, polished rice, red beans, ghee, honey, milk, and curd. The king of that land will be greatly pleased and will yield the royal throne to them. The same applies to queens, princes, and all nobles.
If one beholds the mandala of the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel King, all the karmic retributions of Avici hell—the four grave offenses, the five heinous crimes, slandering the true Dharma, and every evil deed—will swiftly be purified and eliminated. All severe sufferings will be completely extinguished. One will never again take birth in the evil realms through the five heinous acts. Instead, one will always abide in a superior state.
Eighty-four thousand vajra-wielding yakshas, the tenth-ground Bodhisattvas who uphold the vajra-dharani, and sixty-eight thousand vidyadhara immortals will guard and accompany one day and night.
After the end of this life, one will certainly be reborn in the glorious and wondrous Vajrapani’s great accomplishment palace, becoming a true mantra-upholding vidyadhara immortal, with the sixteen great bodhisattvas as one’s brothers."
爾時如來說護摩印曰：「即以左手頭指大母指相縛，直伸中指無名指向掌作拳，以印當胸，右手頭指中指大母指拍珠，以一切如來金剛摩尼身大灌頂印言即聲誦呪作護摩法，一切事業皆令成就。則是三部諸尊極祕無上密印及祕密明。我今即為一切有情廣宣說之，汝虛空藏受持是法流通世間，普令利益末世有情。」
爾時虛空藏菩薩摩訶薩受誠實語：「願垂加持。」佛言：「善哉善哉！如汝所願，守護正法莫令失墜。」
Then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Akashagarbha made a sincere vow: “May your blessings descend upon me.” The Buddha replied: “Excellent, excellent! As you wish, protect the true Dharma and let it not be lost.”
爾時虛空藏菩薩、金剛手菩薩、觀自在菩薩等而說偈言：
Then the Bodhisattvas of the Vast Emptiness Treasury, Vajrapāṇi, and Avalokiteśvara spoke these verses:
「善哉善哉大調御！ 雨寶利益諸有情。
善哉善哉大丈夫！ 演說祕密利生類。
善哉善哉大日輪！ 照耀黑暗得光明。
善哉善哉大師子！ 噉食一切諸惡魔。
唯願大日遍照尊， 開示悟入般若法，
我等歸依遍智者， 證得佛果利群生。」
Excellent! Excellent, Great Tamer! You shower jewels of benefit upon all beings.
Excellent! Excellent, Great Hero! You expound the profound teachings for the good of all living things.
Excellent! Excellent, Great Sun! You illuminate the darkness so we may gain light.
Excellent! Excellent, Great Lion! You devour all evil demons.
We pray to you, Great Sun of Universal Illumination, Reveal, open, and lead us into the wisdom of Prajna.
We take refuge in the All-Knowing One, That we may attain Buddhahood and benefit the multitude of beings.
