### 青原信禪師上堂：「老僧三十年前未參禪時，見山是山，見水是水；及至後來親見知識，有個入處，見山不是山，見水不是水；而今得個休歇處，依前見山秪是山，見水秪是水。大眾！這三般見解是同是別？有人緇素得出，許汝親見老僧。」

> Chan Master Qingyuan Xin addressed the assembly: "Thirty years ago, before I began my meditation practice, mountains were mountains to me, and waters were waters. Later, after meeting a true teacher and finding a way in, mountains were no longer mountains, and waters were no longer waters. Now, having found a place of resting, I see mountains simply as mountains again, and waters simply as waters. Everyone! Are these three views the same or different? If someone can discern through them, I would acknowledge that you have truly seen me."

無端呈出一三叉，龍象筵中驗作家；若是老胡家裡客，是非蜂起儘從它。

> Suddenly, a trident appears without cause, Amid the assembly of dragons and elephants, testing the masters; If one is a guest of the old Hu’s house, Let disputes swarm like bees—let them be.
