### 三五、唐西蜀慈光寺尼海印傳

> Biography of Haiyin, Nun of Ciguang Temple in Western Shu, Tang Dynasty

海印，唐末人，住西蜀慈光寺。才思清峻，落筆成韻，全唐詩所採僧詩甚多，而尼眾只印一人，亦僅舟夜一章，彌可貴矣！其句云：「水色連天色，風聲益浪聲；旅人歸思苦，漁叟夢魂驚。舉棹雲先到，移舟月逐行；旋吟詩句罷，猶見遠山橫。」餘作想亦稱此，惜皆不傳。

> Haiyin was a person from the late Tang Dynasty, residing at Ciguang Temple in Western Shu. Her talent and thoughts were pure and profound, and her brushstrokes naturally formed poetic rhythms. The Complete Tang Poems includes many poems by monks, but among nuns, only Haiyin is represented, and even then, with just one poem, "A Night on the Boat," making it all the more precious! Her verse reads: "The water's hue blends with the sky's hue, The wind's sound merges with the waves' sound; The traveler's longing for home is bitter, The old fisherman's dreams are startled. Raising the oar, clouds arrive first, Moving the boat, the moon follows along; After reciting the poem in a whirl, Still, the distant mountains stretch across." Her other works were likely of similar quality, but sadly, none have survived.
