### 六九、元黃巖接待庵尼覺真傳

> 69\. Biography of Nun Juezhen of Jiedai Nunnery in Huangyan, Yuan Dynasty

覺真，號竺心，黃巖濠頭丁氏安人也。初見絕田耕於委羽山，有省入，遂棄家築室自居。復參涌泉古愚，泉曰：「良家子女，東奔西走作麼？」真曰：「特來拜和尚。」泉曰：「者裏容你不得。」真乃拍手一下，曰：「三十年用底，今朝捉敗。」泉便休去。往鴈山春雨庵謁無際，纔入門，便曰：「春雨如膏，行人惡見泥濘。」際曰：「不是，不是。」真擬進語，被際喝出。晚年，就邑中明因寺側開接待，一僧提包笠直入臥內，真問：「是甚麼？」僧曰：「行腳僧。」真遽指其足曰：「草鞋𦄍斷，為甚不知？」僧無語，真便將包笠擲出，曰：「者裏無汝措足處。」一日，明因奎禪師相看，真曰：「聞說長老夜來生得兒子，是否？」明曰：「且道是男是女？」真曰：「雞銜燈盞走，鼈齩釣魚竿。」

> Juezhen, also known as Zhuxin, was a native of Anren, Haotou Ding, Huangyan. Initially, he encountered Jue Tian Geng at Weiyu Mountain and experienced a moment of insight, after which he left home and built a hut to live in solitude. Later, he visited Yongquan Guyu for guidance. Yongquan said, "A child from a good family, why are you running around everywhere?" Juezhen replied, "I came specifically to pay respects to you, Master." Yongquan said, "There is no place for you here." Juezhen then clapped his hands once and said, "What I've been using for thirty years—today it's been exposed." Yongquan then fell silent. Later, he went to Yanshan Chunyu Hermitage to visit Wuji. As soon as he entered the gate, he said, "Spring rain is like oil, but travelers hate to see the mud." Wuji said, "No, no." Juezhen was about to speak further when Wuji shouted him out. In his later years, he set up a reception hall beside Mingyin Temple in the county. One day, a monk carrying a bag and bamboo hat walked straight into his sleeping quarters. Juezhen asked, "What is this?" The monk replied, "A traveling monk." Juezhen immediately pointed at his feet and said, "Your straw sandals are worn out—why don't you know?" The monk remained silent. Juezhen then threw out his bag and hat, saying, "There is no place for you to stand here." One day, Mingyin Kui, a Chan master, came to visit. Juezhen said, "I heard that the elder gave birth to a child last night—is that true?" Mingyin asked, "Tell me, was it a boy or a girl?" Juezhen replied, "A chicken carrying a lamp walks, a turtle bites a fishing rod."
