The Recorded Sayings of Chan Master Pufuzhuo of Mount Qing is a compilation of the teachings of the eminent Linji Chan Master Pufuzhuo of the Qing Dynasty, edited by his disciples, including Guangmo. Completed in the early Qing Dynasty, this work carries forward the style of the Linji school. It records the master's formal hall sermons, informal gatherings, sharp exchanges, dialogues, and poetic verses delivered at Mount Qing and other places, fully embodying the distinctive characteristics of his Chan approach: directly pointing to the human mind, rigorous, and unadorned. As an important text of the Linji school, this recorded sayings not only reveals the practical atmosphere of Chan communities in the early Qing, but also provides valuable historical material for the study of Chan thought and the literary genre of recorded sayings during the Ming and Qing periods. It holds significant academic standing in Buddhist history, serving as a link between past and future.
