Ren Yue was a Tang Dynasty monk and scholar renowned for his translation of the *Sūtra of the Great Cloud*, which played a significant role in supporting Empress Wu Zetian's reign. He also authored commentaries on various Buddhist texts, including the *Avataṃsaka Sūtra*.
