Cui Zhiyuan (崔致远), also known as Choe Chiwon in Korean, was a prominent scholar-official of the Unified Silla period in Korea (9th century). While renowned for his literary works and official career, there is no prominent record of him translating Buddhist scriptures. His fame lies more in his Confucian scholarship and poetry.
