Jīguō (笈多), active during the Northern Wei dynasty, was a monk and translator credited with rendering the Sūtra of the Great Cloud (Mahāmegha Sūtra) into Chinese. This sutra was particularly significant for its prophecies concerning a female sovereign, which later played a role in legitimizing Empress Wu Zetian's reign.
